Do you refuse any Donations
We appreciate your generosity but we do refuse some donations. Our many
supporters in the community generously donate the quality goods that we
sell. If you are interested in donating items, please remember that we operate
with a small staff, so we can only accept quality items. Clothes should
be clean and in good condition. Household items should be clean and unbroken
while small appliances should be in good working condition.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes! Crawford County Humane Society's Second Chance Thrift Store is a 501
(C) (3) non-profit organization and any donation made to the organization
is 100% tax deductible if you are a taxpayer who itemizes deductions on
federal tax returns. Just keep your receipt and itemized donation list for
your tax records. IRS regulations require you to provide your own valuation
of charitable gifts other than cash. We cannot establish a value for you.
For all tax-related questions, we recommend that you speak with your tax
advisor.
